In situ installation
White cotton flocking on polyester autoadhesive backing, electronically programmed ultraviolet lighting system, chair and table.
You find yourself in a small room where the walls are entirely covered with patterns made of soft polyester flocking. These patterns, white on a white surface, are not easy to distinguish at first. As you come nearer, you now discern the different juxtaposed silhouettes in the wallpaper. You then perceive a gradual change in lighting that renders the overall view discernable and finally comprehensible because the patterns are now coloured, the flocking material reflecting the ultraviolet light. This installation solicits vision and touch and questions the usual supremacy attributed to the sense of sight in human experience.
