Glaçage

Joyce Yahouda gallery, Montreal.
Galerie des Arts visuels, Laval University, Québec. 2008

Glaçage speaks about climate, information, technology and our relationship to the natural world. It is composed of two main elements: a refrigeration mechanism that produces ice on Freon filled copper coils and an electromagnetic display device providing continuous information. By installing these two components in the same space the artist is contrasting a direct experience with a mediated one, in order to highlight the loss of the physical in the face of technological reproduction.
